Int’l Conference in Karbala Stresses Support for Palestine, Boycott of Israel

IQNA – Participants in an international conference in Karbala underlined the need for solidarity with the Palestinian people and boycott of the Zionist regime.

The third edition of the Nida al-Aqsa International Conference wrapped up in the Iraqi holy city on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

 

The third edition of the Nida al-Aqsa International Conference wrapped up in the Iraqi holy city on Tuesday, according to Al-Mayadeen.

Religious and political scholars and figures from more than 60 countries attended the two-day aevent.

They issued a statement at the end of the conference in which they reiterated their all-out support for the people of Palestine and the resistance against the Israeli regime that strives for liberation of the land of Palestine.

The participants also called for severing all kinds of ties with the criminal Zionist regime.

The statement further appreciated the stances of the Iraqi government and people in solidarity with the Palestinian nation.

The conference was organized by the Global Campaign for Return of Palestinians under the supervision of the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS).

“From Battle of Taff (Battle of Karbala) to Al-Aqsa Flood Operation; Victory of Will against Tyranny” was the theme of this year’s edition.

The participants met with Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalayi, the custodian of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine, at the end of the conference.

In an address at the meeting, Sheikh al-Karbalayi highlighted the importance of organizing the annual event in drawing global support for the issue of Palestine, especially considering the Zionist regime’s ongoing brutal war on the Gaza Strip.
